As the title says, I am capped and now dunno what to do. I am kind of self sufficient and only lose materials as I don't feel like building Standing Stage what-ever so as to atleast work to gather materials.
But apart from waiting for weekends to buy 2 measly training manuals, I am pretty much at a loss what to do.

2022.01.20 10:51 Nerdguy88 The Short and Sweet Adventure

I recently joined roll20 in hopes of getting into a D&D game. Most of the player and DM are unimportant. The only one who is was the edge kobold rogue with 2 katanas and a heavy crossbow.
The opening of the campaign. We have all taken the same boat across the ocean and are now coming into port. The captain of the ship puts a message on his carrier and releases it. The bird starts flying to the port.
"I SHOOT IT!" Yells the kobold.
"I'm sorry what? Why?" The DM said very confused
"HE SHOULD RUN EVERYTHING BY ME! IF HE DIDN'T HE DOESN'T GET TO DO IT"
Queue the entire play group trying to figure out why he thinks he is entitled to be told anything by the captain we paid to transport us across the ocean. The Kobold refuses to back down and keeps demanding to get his attack roll. The DM says its a really small bird and is already some ways away. It will be hard to hit. Surprise the one guy who didn't want to roll in roll20 and wanted to use his own dice off screen crits.
"That will teach him to do that without my knowledge" the kobold said smugly.
I waited for any kind of consequences. None ever came.
"Well after you kill his bird he looks sad. Anyways as you all are pulling into port you all hop off the boat. What are you doing now?"
I asked the DM if anything would come from that since it was a trained messenger bird. He said it wasn't really worth it. He plays with this guy all the time. I made an excuse to leave the game and never came back or answered any messages from the DM.

2022.01.20 10:51 reserveum Tulip Mania vs. Bitcoin: Learning from our mistakes

Tulip Mania vs. Bitcoin: Learning from our mistakes The economy usually develops in cycles, and there are many examples of financial bubbles, when peoplesโ€™ excitement or even obsession in the stock market or any other market created bubbles that resulted in great crashes. Tulip Mania in the XVIIโ€™s century Netherlands was exactly one of such cases.

https://preview.redd.it/74aisv6tguc81.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ab79c09aa2bb8829f14ec55d90a3b542e452e329
As the nature of man remains the same, there were, are and will be other examples of great bubbles that would absorb billions of dollars'. The dot-com bubble, the mortgage crisis are good examples of such events.
The history is being made before our eyes and we are all watching another sky-rocketing trend: cryptocurrencies โ€“ a hybrid of money and digital technologies that have influenced the entire modern world.
Reserveum Group believes that there are economic and psychological reasons for all financial bubbles.
The main pattern of all the bubbles is that investors never want their asset to stop growing in value. Let us have a look at a funny history that illustrates this:
This is the story about aliens and magic beans.
A long time ago, there was a small planet with ten thousand little green men on it. Two thousand were sick and eight thousand were completely healthy. An expedition from Earth reached this small planet, and it brought an unknown thing to the little green men โ€“ magic beans. They were magic, because just one bean could cure a green person from any disease.
Alien financial tycoons began to trade the beans on the stock exchange, and the price increased every day. More and more green people learned about the healing power of the beans and used them to restore their health. But, thanks God and the people from Earth, there were fewer and fewer sick aliens.
However, the tycoons and the common people didnโ€™t want to sell beans cheaper. They wished to earn money just in two clicks. There even appeared investment funds that started to invest money in bean processing companies, banks issued loans secured by beans, etc.
There were aliens who got sick again, but the number of buyers greatly exceeded the number of newly-ill little green men as the rumors were spreading very fast about a unique product that was not only a medical treatment, but a profitable asset as well.
One day it turned out that all little green men had tried the beans and got healthy, and the beans were no longer needed. The "Beansโ€™ Black Thursday" came when the price of beans dropped sharply, and the bubble burst.
How one can prevent a financial bubble? Or, what is more, can one prevent a financial bubble?
We consider, it is necessary to create a protocol that would regulate the speed of the assetโ€™s price change to prevent the growth of a financial bubble. The speed of the assetโ€™s price change should reduce as the total amount of funds invested in the asset approaches the total volume of the market using this asset.

Tulip Mania.
Let us have a look at an example in history โ€“ the Tulip Mania. It began in the Netherlands in 1636.
At that time, the Dutch economy had just recovered from the depression, and the tulip market blossomed. Having earned some money to satisfy their basic needs, people turned to investing their savings. The demand for tulips was hard and it won the trust of investors and businessmen very quickly.
At the beginning of the movement, everything went pretty well, investors were calculating their future earnings, and the more people were involved in trading, the faster the prices rose. From November 1636 to February 1637, tulip bulbs prices grew by scores. A rare breed bulb could be sold for 5,000 guilders or approximately USD 300 thousand in current prices. A regular tulip bulb could cost 1,500 guilders or USD 90 thousand.
The Tulip mania was characterized by the seasonal nature of the asset (tulip bulbs) and the limited supply. Most all trading was conducted in futures, and the transactions were chains of futures contracts that were resold dozens of times and were backed by no real bulbs.
The Tulip Pyramid was unstable from the beginning but two other factors came to the scene: new phase of the Thirty Years' War and another plague pandemic. All these factors combined undermined the very foundation of the bubble, and the flutter of a butterfly wings was enough for the whole building to be destroyed. Panic broke out, and in just a few days the entire tulip trade in the country stopped. Most of the players lost all their savings, and many went bankrupt. Unfortunately, these are common results of all financial bubbles.
There is no new thing under the sun and the history usually repeats. Regrettably, people forget about their mistakes, new people are born and again they believe that they will benefit and the neighbor will lose. Financial bubbles come up again from time to time, and they always lead people to the same ending.
Could we have another Tulip mania in the future?
It is believed that cryptocurrencies are today's tulip bulbs for the whole world, and to be honest, there are solid reasons for such speculations. First and foremost, cryptocurrencies are mostly not backed by any physical resource, secondly, they are popular mostly because of the hype and interest in modern technologies, and thirdly, they are commonly used for speculation. All these facts can remind one of a financial bubble, and most people related to cryptocurrencies share this view point.
The collapse of Bitcoin has been predicted with regular frequency since 2017, nevertheless, it continues to grow in volume and price, astonishing critics and giving rise to even more frightening predictions. The number of investors is increasing greatly and it seems that everybody on Earth knows about Bitcoin.
Is there any difference between Bitcoin and the Tulip Mania? Some people say that Bitcoin has become an investment asset and is now too big to fall. Yes, its growth is unprecedented, and it has risen from the middle of nowhere to an asset of USD 888.97 billion worth of trust.
Are there any differences between blockchain technology and Tulip Mania?
Yes, here they are: blockchain technology attracts a lot of large investors due to the very concept of decentralization and anonymity. The possibility to escape from taxes and state control is so tempting that the appearing of business sharks with large portfolios is almost inevitable. After that, a domino effect occurs, and more and more new investors flock to cryptocurrencies, creating an uptrend and providing insurance for each other at the same time.
Another important cornerstone of the new technology is that it is based on open source software subject to mathematical analysis. Protocols are created enabling people to control both supply and demand of various coins by using a smart contract. It was impossible in the days of tulip bulbs, of course.
But what is still in place and common to the Tulip Mania, is that modern blockchain technologies have no chance against the nightmare of every market asset โ€“ market panic. It can be caused by any relevant occasion โ€“ epidemics, bad statistics, hacker attacks, government interventions, key investors leaving or any of the factors combined. Will large investors support the quotation of an asset with โ€˜Buyโ€™ orders during the periods of recession? What will be their investment goals at the time of troubles? There are no answers to these questions.
Secondly, for more than 12 years of Bitcoin, the worldsโ€™ leading countries have made very little in order to integrate cryptocurrencies into the โ€˜officialโ€™ economy. Tokens are accepted as payment methods very rarely, mainly in related industries. And the risk that Bitcoin will turn into another bubble still exists.
Let us compare the market charts of tulips and that of Bitcoin. At the initial stage, Tulip Mania looked very optimistic. The growth was steady throughout 1635 and 1636, and there was nothing to indicate an approaching disaster. Bitcoin chart also looks stable, but all this may change as soon as the market starts collapsing. But even the forecast of 100 thousand dollars per Bitcoin can attract millions of new investors, and it may well happen in 2022.

https://preview.redd.it/8l3g2h0mkuc81.jpg?width=630&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6c91f8e691c1c32083b414687a5c461925b3554

https://preview.redd.it/9wqemo1rkuc81.png?width=596&format=png&auto=webp&s=e93633c301f595c153011efa7d3ee5da3efc921e
However, we cannot state that ALL cryptocurrencies are only speculative assets. If one puts the right characteristics into the coin algorithm, it can really make an alternative to all modern money.
The charts above show that if the asset demand is low, the growth is steady. The higher is the demand, the faster it grows. The reason behind this is the limited volume of the market, that is there are not so many people who take part in it. Most of whom are adventurous people who are ready to take risk for high profits. And the dynamics of such speculative assets is usually the same.
If we aim at cryptocurrencies to become effective money and to replace fiat currencies in the future, our approach should be different. We wrote about it in our article called "The Anatomy of Stablecoins" and elaborated on such cryptocurrencies that can easily compete with our current money and, perhaps, even substitute it one day. We will not go into details now. Below are only the basic principles of such tokens:
1) The emission is controlled by participants;
2) The token is backed by an equivalent amount of another cryptocurrency;
3) The reserve amount required for creation of a new token grows over time;
4) The tokenโ€™s growth rate is built into the algorithm and correlates with the inflation.
These are the core principles of algorithmic stablecoins that can become an asset that is fully protected from becoming a bubble.
To prevent the effect of a bubble, the growth rate should decrease as the market volume increases and increase if the market volume decreases.
This can be done if the market is full, or in other words, if everyone turns to the cryptocurrency. It is not likely that any of the existing stablecoins could reach this level, but algorithmic stablecoins have everything necessary to do this.

2022.01.20 10:51 Legallyblondie30000 Can an employer force you to perform a service?

So for context, I work at a very small spa that has only been open for several months. I perform every single service that we offer except facials. For some reason I really hate doing facials. I think itโ€™s just the whole having the massage a strangers neck and shoulders that feels out of my comfort zone. My boss has known this since day one and has always been pretty cool about it. I texted her the other day asking her if I could pick up some more hours. Sheโ€™s looking to hire anyway. She told me if I want more hours I need to start doing facials. Now I feel like I need to just move one from this spa. I feel itโ€™s important to add that my boss has absolutely NO background in the industry. Sheโ€™s just a woman with a ton of money sitting around and just wanted to start up any type of business. I was open to doing facials for a minute there but she wasnโ€™t allowing me to train properly on them so I gave up on it. Iโ€™m not really sure how to feel about all of this.
