2021.10.19 18:26 Solanium Streak 124 - As reformas ortográficas

2021.10.19 18:26 Heretopostmydreams Is anybody else's mind split into multiple parts in dreams?
It's hard to properly articulate what I mean by this but I'll attempt to explain it as well as I can.
This isnt talking about specific dreams where theres multiple versions of you or anything like that, I mean a general thing where there are different "entities" that fulfill certain roles of dreams that you can tell are all just different parts of your mind.
As an example for what happens to me, my mind is split into 3 parts during my dreams. One part is a viewer (which is the closest part to my actual mind, and I remember dreams from this perspective most of the time), next is the character within the story, and third is the writer of the dream.
The viewer is basically just me as I am IRL. I watch the dreams and then remember some of them and probably dont remember most of them. I dont really have any impact on what happens in the dreams and a lot of the time this part of me doesnt really think on it's own, it kind of silently sits and just watches. Whenever I have a "lucid" dream is the only time where I can properly think about the dream from an outside perspective, but I cant even move the arms of the character-me, and he just keeps doing whatever hes supposed to do.
The character version of me is the one who fills the role of whatever he needs to in a story. The personality usually changes depending on the story but in general they just do what the story dictates. Whenever I'm not lucid dreaming I just watch him do whatever hes supposed to and that's that. Occasionally I'm able to "tell" him what to do, usually by thinking thoughts in a form that addresses myself like thinking "go this way, go this way, seriously go this way". Rarely does he listen to what I say, and when he does he gets stopped by the writer-me.
The writer me is the one who writes the stories that appear in my dreams. From what I can tell, my dreams are significantly more coherent than most other people's that I've seen. Proper stories are told with their own created characters, interesting locations are developed, and connections to other dreams are made to create cohesive narratives. Writer-me is a great writer, which I cant say that the conscious me shares this trait. Because of this the writer-me does not like me doing anything that alters the course of whatever he "writes". Whenever I have lucid dreams I dont have any control over what I do, I cant even move my arms (which are technically character-me's arms). Whenever I rarely can slightly alter what character-me is going to do, writer-me explicitly stops character-me from doing it, which is how I know that writer-me exists beyond just writing.
Let's say I tell character-me to go a certain way during a story, he will consider it and then when he tries to go that way something will show up to block him. If character-me is looking down a dark set of stairs that clearly has a monster down there, and I tell him to not go down there, writer-me will block all other exits to force him to go.
It's a very strange dynamic and I'm really not sure what to think about it. All 3 are clearly parts of my brain, and I dont believe that dreams have any magic or any crazy nonsense. So I'm kind of just wondering if other people have similar experiences, and I'm kind of wondering how my mind ends up splitting like this in my dreams.

2021.10.19 18:26 Vpeeen Help- Pimax8Kx VR for Assetto Corsa.
I am in the process of writing a review of the DD1 for publication and could use some help! I have thousands of hours in iRacing, but all of it via VR with the Pimax 8Kx. I’ve been reinstalling all my other sim games that will work in VR so I can talk about the FFB quality in various popular sims. I am very tech savvy and have managed to get Automoblista 2, Dirt Rally 2 and Project Cars 2 up and running, and looking fantastic in VR after setting everything up properly, as well as editing ini or xml configure files.
AssettoCorsa however - I can’t find much in the way of editable confit files.
I need a VR expert with a beast system and similar HMDs help getting this going. Would appreciate any help, links, or suggestions!

2021.10.19 18:26 hitch_please Success Adding in Habits Slowly?
Hello Reddit, I’m (38F) looking for some success stories of adding in habits slowly and achieving goals.
Over the last three years, I’ve gone from a very inconsistent gym-goer to consistent lifting 3x/week with a trainer. I love the routine and goals I’m hitting, but other than MWF, I’m not doing anything else intentionally. I pretty consistently hit 9-10k steps a day, mostly from forgetting things upstairs/downstairs, and my nutrition isn’t bad, but I’m not in a calorie deficit most of the time.
I tend to be all or nothing, so on any given Monday I’ll make a huge list of things I want to do and by Friday it’s evaporated into the distraction of real life. Some things do stick, for instance for the last month, every morning I spend 5-10 minutes on stretching and mobility exercises while coffee brews and I listen to the news.
Can you please share how you’ve been able to add in habits over time to help reach your goals, whether fitness, nutrition or other lifestyle habits? I’d like to add in one or two home workouts per week, or go for walks regularly, for example, but as the day moves on I find a hundred reasons why it’s just not important and then I’m right back where I was.
TLDR; how do you make habits stick?

2021.10.19 18:26 Zeref2350 What's the funniest/Most Creative street name you've seen?
2021.10.19 18:26 Brokowski20 Sardonicast take which disagreed you to the point of annoyance?
Has there ever been a TV/show/game discussed on the podcast which you felt the trio were offbase in their criticism or frustrated with how it was discussed? By and large I can't think of many examples, as it's quite often I'll disagree with the cast. I especially find that I almost always disagree with the obscure movies they're unanimous to praise, such as Holy Mountain or anything to do with Dogme.
Of course I respect their opinion and can usually see the perspective of it, but two exceptions come to mind for me: The Last of Us 2 and Doctor Sleep. I felt their discussions were unfocused and a sense of intentional indifference with both projects. Disappointing, as I felt both projects were very successful in what they tried to achieve.

2021.10.19 18:26 0Stasis Asking questions makes you grow
I'm speaking from personal experience but it seems 5o me that the Bible studies that I encounter follow a pattern:
1.Talk about a topic or theme 2. Asking easy questions 3. Quote verses from book to book. 4. Affirm a conclusion. 5. Hold your questions
I understand that when it comes to studies that it's important to stay on point but if one would think to evaluate what kind of topic that you are going through and if a short time would be enough to explore.
If you're going to go over a huge topic like identity, the nature of the gospel or what it means to follow God. These topics are so big that you're asking for questions.
And the questions come, people get frustrated that they didn't a chance to explore their thoughts.
I know there's no "one objective" way because we're led by the holy spirit but Christianity isn't math. I find it weird that this kind of method is accepted when coming to Christ is about discovery. When you force feed teaching by destroying any curiosity, then when you're cutting out is a deeper relationship with God.
Ask questions and get comfortable being questioned by others even if you're the head of the study, ministry or priest. Let your passion for God lead you to have a relationship with him and learn his way and not your way.

2021.10.19 18:26 DSCarter_Tech Baby Steps People
All the buzz around the Pixel 6 series leads people to assume Google is finally ready to challenge the Samsung/Apple duopoly in the US. Even Google knows that's not possible with a single phone launch as evidence by the rumor they're only building 6 million total units. Apple sells 6 million in the first week!
But, this is a good sign that Google plans to grow the Pixel line from it's current also-ran market position.
